South Carolina rosters
The units
247 regiments, battalions, companies and batteries, as the National Park Service index names them, grouped by arm. Each opens to its history, its battles, its microfilm and every card.

"Cards" is the number of index cards, one per man per unit. "M861 roll" is the microfilm roll of the unit's muster-roll captions where the match is sound; a blank means the match is doubtful or there is none, and the unit page says which. "1898 rolls" counts the company rolls in the state's 1898 roll book that belong to the unit.
