banded, alluded to in
this account, were the
first done by Messrs
Eason of that calibre,
and are now in
Fort Moultrie, where
they have been in service
for the past seven
months. This account
was declined at the
Arsenal, & paid by
the undersigned to
prevent a discontinu-
ance of the work. The
guns were rifled by
authority from the
Head Quarters of the
Dept of S.C. Geo & Fla
under my directions
