Over the Parade

From the parapet, the whole interior of the fort at a glance: a wrecked wooden shed collapsing in the near corner, the parade beyond it worn and grass-edged, a magazine mound at the left, one figure crossing the open ground, and the water beyond the far wall.

This negative stands alone in the Library of Congress — a single plate, where nearly every other view in the series is a stereograph with two. Whether its twin broke, was never made, or was never scanned, the record does not say; the catalog entry simply has one file where its neighbors have a left half and a right.
