Morris Island
The Green End of the Island

Original scanLibrary of Congress
Pine and palmetto scrub, dense and untouched — a plate titled simply Morris Island, with not a tent, gun or man in it.
If the title is exact, this is the island's rarely photographed interior, the brushy southern ground behind the camps. Its record did not surface in the harvest, the title carries no detail to check, and the plate is held unpublished until the record is pulled — a bare title is not enough to publish on.
