The Pyramid and the Tent

The Library of Congress titles this the interior of Fort Johnson and then adds, in parentheses, Morris Island — and those two statements cannot both be true, because Fort Johnson stood on James Island across the harbor channel. The contradiction is the catalog's, it is carried here unresolved, and this plate is filed under no place on this site until a document or a matched view settles which island the camera stood on.
