Charleston business, listed 1854 and 1858
James Gadsden & Co.
Sea Island and Upland Cotton Factors; also General Commission Merchants
On East Bay.
A listing proves a year, not a span. A house in the 1854 book and the 1858 Review was there in 1854 and in 1858. The years between are not evidenced here, and nothing on this page should be read as saying the firm traded through them.

Possibly the same house in the 1852 directory
Entries that share a surname with this firm on the same street. Matched on those two things only; the directory and the advertisement have not been reconciled, and a reader should compare the lines.
